ذكرى اليوم القادم
في سعينا اليومي للحفاظ على الهوية وسردية الوجود نلجأ للذاكرة، هي ذكريتنا وعُدتنا، وهي كذلك مدخلنا للغد! من دون الماضي لا مستقبل؛ الأمر بهذا التجريد.
نقدم في هذا الإنشاء التصميمي رؤيتنا لأحد روافد الذاكرة، وهو: متجر الكتب، هذا العنصر الوظيفي اجتماعياً وثقافياً في كل شارع وزقاق عربي، خلقت هذه المتاجر والأكشاك تجارب يومية شكلّت الوعي ولغة الخطاب عند ملايين العرب، ولكي نختار المرحلة العمرية الأكثر أهمية برأينا توجهنا إلى كتب الأطفال المصورة، وبالتحديد لتجربة “دار الفتى العربي ١٩٧٤ - ١٩٩٥” كمشروع ريادي ذو توجهات بصرية وفكرية للأطفال العرب وعائلاتهم من المحيط للخليج.
هذا المشروع الذي خلق مساحة لمصممين وفنانين عرب خرجوا من عباءة الممارسات الفنية الكلاسيكية التي ترضي جمهور “البالغين” أو يومياتهم في العمل الصحافي السياسي/الاجتماعي، ترك الفنانون كل ذلك وتوجهوا بأنماط تجريبية لأول مرة للطفل العربي بكل جرأة وعنفوان! وكذلك وفّرت منصة للكتاب والروائيين العرب المرموقين الذين تخطوا المساحات المعتادة الرزينة وتفاعلوا بالرمزيات والأخلاقيات المبسطة وبعض المرح لمخاطبة البنات والصبيان العرب.
أتت منشورات الدار على هيئة قصص مروية على لسان أطفال وجمادات وحيوانات، وكذلك الجدات! لكن بلغة عربية عالية المستوى، وأيضاً، بلغة بصرية لم يسبق لها مثيل، وكأن الفنانين والمصممين آنذاك يسعون لإنشاء توجه فني جديد يقود لحركة فنية قومية مستقلة.
قمنا في ”خزانة الكتب الجميلة“ بتجميع العشرات من هذه المطبوعات عبر جهودنا وبحثنا المضني، وكذلك بالصدفة البحتة من أسواق شعبية، أو عبر هدايا من محفوظات الأصدقاء الشخصية! وأجرينا عمليات التصنيف ثم المسح الضوئي الدقيقة لكل عنصر، بعض هذه العناصر في حالة متهالكة ويتطلب ذلك إجراء الترميم الرقمي اللازم.
عبر بوابة خاصة تمر في ”اليوم“ يشكّل هذا الإنشاء التصميمي فرصة ممتازة لعرض “مُنتجات متحفية” غير متاحة بالأسواق ولا حتى بالمكتبات العامة، ولكن سيتاح للجمهور لمسها وتصفحها والتفاعل معها، وهذا هو بيت القصيد، وكذلك عرضها عبر موقعنا الالكتروني وصفحاتنا التواصلية الاجتماعية، كي نضمن أوسع تفاعل مع المفتونين بهذه التجارب التصميمية والأدبية ويرغبون بالنهل منها.
خطواتنا للغد لا بد أن تبدأ من اليوم، وكذلك قالها الشاعر الفلسطيني الراحل محمود درويش “ذكرى اليوم القادم.. و هكذا.. أواصل حياتي!”.
Memories of the Coming Day
In our daily endeavor to preserve identity and narrative existence, we turn to memory, our oldest and best weapon, and it is also our gateway to “Tomorrow”! Without the past, there is no future; this is the simple reality.
In this design installation, we present our vision for one of the branches of memory, the bookshop. This functional and cultural element is found in every Arab street and alley. These stores and kiosks have created daily experiences that shaped the awareness and vocabulary for millions of Arabs. To choose the most important age stage in our opinion, we turned to illustrated children's books, specifically the "Dar Al-Fata Al-Arabi, 1974-1995" a project and pioneering initiative with visual and intellectual orientations for Arab children and their families from the Ocean to the Gulf.
This project, which created a canvas for Arab designers and artists who moved away from the classical artistic practices that satisfy "adults" or their daily lives in political/social journalistic work, left all that and ventured into experimental styles for the Arab child for the first time with boldness and vigor! It also provided a platform for writers and prominent Arab novelists who surpassed conventional, formal spaces, interacting with symbols, simplified ethics, and some fun to address Arab young ones.
The publications of the house came in the form of stories narrated by children, objects, animals, and even grandmothers! But in a high-level Arabic language, and also in a visual language unprecedented, as if the artists and designers at that time were seeking to create a new artistic direction leading to an independent national artistic movement.
We, at the Beautiful Books Trove, have collected dozens of these prints through our diligent efforts and research, as well as pure chance from popular markets or through donations from personal friends' archives! We conducted classification and precise scanning for each element, some of which were in a deteriorated condition, requiring necessary digital restoration.
Through “Today’s” mesmerizing portal; this design creation is an excellent opportunity to showcase "museum products" that are not available in markets or at public libraries but will be accessible to the public for touch, exploration, and interaction. This is the essence of the matter, as well as displaying them on our website and social media pages to ensure the widest interaction with those captivated by these design and literary experiences who desire to draw inspiration from them.
Our steps for tomorrow must start today, as the late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish said, "Memories of the coming day, and so… I continue my life!”
